Services

Though I have experience with many genres, these are the types of manuscripts I most often work with when developmentally editing:

  • memoir

  • fictionalized memoir

  • personal profiles

  • personal essays

  • travel writing

  • true crime

  • WWII memoir, nonfiction, and historical fiction

  • mystery/crime/thriller

  • literary fiction

I copyedit, line edit, and proofread an even wider variety of fiction.

I do not work with horror, poetry, or erotica.

Having taught English as a second language for many years, I am also skilled at working with authors for whom English is not their first language.

Project Fees and Turnaround Time

  • Editing fees depend on the genre in which you are working, the complexity and length of your project, the type of editing you are requesting, and turnaround time. I will provide you with a project proposal once I have seen your manuscript and we have discussed relevant specifics.

  • The Editorial Freelancers Association has a chart of average fee structures within the editing field.

  • I ask for a 50 percent deposit to begin work on your project, with the remaining due at the completion of the project. If you need a different payment plan, I'm happy to discuss this.

  • Turnaround time depends on the specifics of your project, as well as what I already have scheduled. It's best to contact me so we can discuss your needs.
