Though I have experience with many fiction genres, as well as a diverse range of nonfiction topics, these are some of the most common:

  • the performing arts (I was a professional dancer and I grew up with a concert pianist mother, so I spent a lot of time onstage and backstage.)

  • the world of medicine (My dad is a retired physician.)

I do not edit horror, poetry, or erotica.

Having taught English as a second language for many years, I also love working with authors whose first language is not English.

Project Fees and Turnaround Time

​

  • Editing fees depend on the genre in which you are working, the complexity and length of your project, the type of editing you are requesting, and turnaround time. I will provide you with a project proposal once I have seen your manuscript and we have discussed relevant specifics. 

  • The Editorial Freelancers Association has a chart of average fee structures within the editing field. 

  • I ask for a 50 percent deposit to begin work on your project, with the remaining due at the completion of the project. If you need a different payment plan, I'm happy to discuss this.

  • Turnaround time depends on the specifics of your project, as well as what I already have scheduled. It's best to contact me so we can discuss your needs.
